Fishing Derby
Chance to Win BIG!
Year-round the Community of Brochet and Barren Land Band now host a fishing derby. The derby begins in September.
In 2009 we held our first event, and the prize payout totalled $21,500. The 2009 winner weighted in at 40.1 lbs (Lake Trout) and won $5,000 for 1st place. Other fish scaled in where a couple of 30 pounders and a lot of 20 pounders.
The Barren Lands Band also holds an annual trout derby, where the top prize in 2009 was an ATV and other payouts.
